The Ranthan Kharak Trek in Pithoragarh district, Uttarakhand, is a hidden gem for adventure seekers looking for a mix of dense forests, lush meadows, and breathtaking mountain views. Unlike the usual glacier treks, this trail takes you through untouched wilderness, offering a serene and immersive experience. The trek begins at Gogina Village (2,200m) in the Bageshwar district and follows a scenic 40 km loop over 5 nights and 6 days, bringing you back to the starting point.

One of the most spectacular stretches is between Thal Top (3,200m) and Ranthan Top (3,900m), where you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views that make every step worthwhile. To one side, you’ll see the rolling meadows of Khaliya Bugyal (3,500m) and the majestic Panchachuli Peaks (6,904m). On the other, the towering Nanda Kot (6,861m) and the Kafni Glacier (3,860m) paint an unforgettable alpine landscape. The journey is not just about reaching the highest point—it’s about soaking in the beauty of remote Himalayan trails, where every turn reveals a new perspective of nature’s grandeur. If you’re looking for an offbeat trek that blends adventure with tranquility, Ranthan Kharak is an experience you shouldn’t miss.
