    ITINERARY:

    Arrive in Maun international airport where you will be met by Exploring Botswana Tours safaris guides off air Botswana. Maun is the gateway to one of the best wildlife experiences you will ever have safari in the unforgettable Okavango Delta .From the flights depend on the time you arrive in Maun .When can start from air  port the mokoro station which will being 45 minutes  drive and then from there you take a mokoro to the island for about 1hour 30 minutes then camping everything will be ready for you at the camp site.

    DAY 1 -2: OKAVANGO DELTA (overnight)

    EXPERIENCE THE VAST WILDERNESS OF THE OKAVANGO DELTA

    Mokoro trips have become the popular way for travelers to experience the tranquility of the Okavango Delta. A trip by ‘Mokoro’ either a traditional/fiberglass dugout canoe is central for the tourists to experience in the delta. The Mokoro was introduced by the Bayei people in the 18th century.

    THE BEAUTY OF OKAVANGO RIVER

    The above shows a local weaving. Clients can engage in as well and learn how to weave baskets. The other one shows the clients having fun in the mokoro (dugout canoe).

    Wake up at 0500hrs, at 0530hrs have breakfast and at 0600hrs depart to Mokoro. The distance from Maun to Boro is roughly 1 hour . You will be in Mokoro for an hour and 30mins before you reach the island. This activity is conducted by local Mokoro community guide Mokoro meaning (the traditional Aquatic mode of transport, dugout canoe) who will take you through the water channels listening to bird’s calls. Bird life is quite spectacular; Hippos and crocodiles are also a usual sight. You will then stretch your legs and go for a walk on the island. 

    On the Island you will see some animals, for example Zebras, Elephant, Buffalos, Impalas, Giraffes and many more depending on the day. At times we encounter lions. Guides are very brilliant; they will explain lot of things to you about the animals and the entire environment. We then have a stopover for lunch. You will get a chance to learn how to poler the mokoro. From there you go for a short walk back to the mokoro station where we find our vehicle waiting for us. We come back to the camp around 6 00 pm. We camp wild in a remote campsite for 1 night.

    DAY 2-6: MOREMI GAME RESERVE - 3 Nights

    Moremi Game Reserve is one of the top game viewing destinations in Botswana throughout the year. You will do the first game drive as you enter the park. Camping will be done for 2 nights in a nearby private campsite with ensuite bush ablutions on tents in Moremi. Moremi looks beautiful with such a wide variety of vegetation comes diverse spectrum of wild life. Huge herds of impala and tsessebe are found in the area, while in the dry season (May-November) large herds of buffalo, wildebeest, elephant and zebra flock into the reserve from the Kalahari in search of food and water. The rare sitatunga and lechwe antelope live in the papyrus banks of the waterways. Lions, cheetahs and packs of wild dogs hunt in the open grassland. The reserve is home to over 400 species of birds, including the African Fish Eagle, the Crested Crane and the Sacred Ibis.

    The next day we wake up at 0530am and have breakfast at 06:00am .You will have a chance to take pictures. Depart for your half day game drive later in the afternoon after having brunch around 15:30 hours. That is when you will get to go on your evening game drive.

    From the game drive you will find your water ready for your shower and your dinner ready. You will have dinner at 20:00hrs. After dinner you can relax around the fire with our staff or you can retire to bed.

    DAY 6-9: SAVUTI - 3 Nights

    We depart to Savuti from Khwai. It is called Savuti because a certain chief called sauté used to live there with his tribe. The distance from Khwai to Savuti is between 2 hours to 3hours depending on what you see on the way. On the way we will see migration of zebras and wildebeest which will be coming back from the Makgadikgadi salt pans. Tawny eagles can be seen soaring in the sky as we go. The drive is a bit longer from Moremi to Savuti, however the drive is much enjoyable as you will see lots of birds and animals on the way. The scenery is amazing and very African looking, with lots of umbrella thorn, acacia tortilis and many more including the most photographed bird, lilac breasted roller a national bird of Botswana. You will not resist from taking a picture of it, it’s the most beautiful bird in Africa. We arrive in time for lunch; our exclusive camp will be put up while you have Brunch. We wild camp for 2 nights depart for an afternoon game drive to see vast herds of zebras and wildebeest and also have an opportunity to see pairs of kori bastards which are the heaviest flying birds. We get back to camp after sunset for a lovely dinner around the camp fire. The next day you will have to do full day game drives on an open 4WD safari vehicle. Upon our arrival in the camp around 1900 Hours it will be time for a lovely dinner before going to bed. After shower you sit around fire with the tour guides sharing ideas and experiences.

    DAY 9-10: CHOBE NATIONAL PARK -1 Night

    Arrive in Chobe National Park where you will be camping at. The distance from Savuti to Chobe is 2 hours 30mins to 3 hours depending on what you see. You will camp for 1 night in a park. We arrive in the afternoon; our camp will be put up while you have high tea at around 15:00 hours.  Chobe boat cruises are a wonderful way to experience the Chobe National Park. It’s time for siesta. Later on around 16:00 pm we embark on a game-viewing boat safari on the Chobe River. Large herds of Elephants are common in the Chobe National Park. They tend to make their way to the river for a drink and onto the islands in the river to feast off the sweet grass. Water birds, including many species of duck and the rare red-billed pratincole can be spotted in their thousands, and guinea fowl and francolin dart through the grasses on the river’s edge.

    KASANE (1 NIGHT IN AN EXCLUSIVE CAMPSITE)

    Wake up early in the morning at 05:30 am and have your lovely breakfast around 0600 am. Game drives are the number one activity to experience while visiting Kasane. Here you will do full day game drive in Kasane.We have 4x4 open sides safari vehicle to offer you exceptional view. You experience various animals and their behavior while our intelligent safari guides explaining a lot of things to you. We arrive in the camp around 1900 hours getting ready for dinner.

    Chobe also boasts two antelopes rarely encountered elsewhere in Botswana - the puku and the Chobe bushbuck. The puku, with their shaggy orange-brown coats and V-shaped horns, can be spotted grazing the floodplains. Always on the lookout for predators, a repetitive whistle is used to warn fellow herd members. In contrast, the Chobe bushbuck is nocturnal and rarely forms groups of more than one pair. Rarely seen, this shy antelope, with its short, spiral horns relies on a sharp bark as an alarm call when threatened. Both the puku and the bushbuck have a number of predators to contend with, from lion, hyena and leopard, to African wild dog. 

    The next day you wake up early 0600hrs and have breakfast at 0630hrs. 

    Depart to the airport where you will catch your outbound flight.

    PROFESSIONAL GUIDE OF BOTSWANA

    Lets Ngoma was born and raised by his grandfather in a small village called Jao flat deep in the okavango delta. A Director of Exploring Botswana Tours safaris and  a safari guide. It is by the nature to this point and time to embrace the knowledge from a reputable nature guide, conservationist and Botswana citizen . Having acquired such knowledge from as little as a young boy. His knowledge in guiding and guests handling and good conduct quality cannot be overemphasized. He is indeed a genius in travel business. Also his huge knowledge about the wildlife in Botswana will inspire every nature lover. I learn right from my childhood how to read the nature around me. These skills passed on to me from grandparents and parents are mostly helpful for my passion as a safari guide. I gladly share my experience, my local knowledge and my enthusiasm for the beauty of nature with my guests. Before starting my own safari company I had gained several years of experience as a safari guide while working for various (high standard ) lodges and camps across Botswana.

    EXPERIENCE: Lets has been working in tourism industry since 2000. He started as a training guide/poler in the Okavango delta ( mokoro tours, boat tours and walking safaris) for various lodges and safari companies and progressed gradually in his career to become a professional certified safari guide. From 2005 to 2018 February he has been working with Desert and Delta safaris in different camps in Botswana. When he joined Desert and Delta he attended guiding training for many times. In 2007 he went to Savute for a guide training level 2 and 3 for 3 weeks. Lets did his rifle handle for 2 weeks with Okavango guiding school in Kwapa camp.
