Freediving has also been prevalent in Kerala for unearthing crustaceans and other bottom-dwelling fish.

    Freediving is a sport that derives itself from these practices. You explore the depths of the ocean with nothing but fins, goggles and occasionally a wet suit. freediving lets you control your body while you brave the pressure and depth of the deep blue sea. Freediving certification is provided by our company alone in Kerala.

    AIDA stands for the international association for certifcation.development of apnea, it is a governing body that sets the standard for safety and recordkeeping around the world for freediving. Our centre offers AIDA freediving certification for all skill levels in Kerala.

    Recreational Courses

    AIDA 1 discover freediver- for the complete beginner with no experience snorkelling or diving this course is designed to introduce you to the world of underwater diving. we teach you the basics of holding your breath and safety measures to be taken. The course takes around a day to complete. It has both a freediving theory session, followed by a skill session.

    AIDA 2 open water freediver- for those of you already experienced diving into the open water this is a challenging course designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills to let you do freediving with a buddy in any centre around the world. It consists of two theory sessions followed by two pool sessions then three open water sessions which put your skills to the test. The course takes around 2-3 days to complete.

    AIDA 3 intermediate freediver- for those of you already experienced with freediving and wanting to take your skills to the next level this course is designed to give you a deeper understanding of the physiological effects on your body at different depths. the course instils you with techniques to allow diving to deeper depths. The entire course takes around 3 days to complete

    AIDA 4 advanced freediver- this is the most advanced recreational freediving course achievable and the highest level of recreational certification in Kerala. This course teaches you all the advanced techniques for deeper diving and how to develop and condition your body for longer bottom times. This is a course designed to push your abilities and limitations as a freediver. This course can be combined with competitive freediving course in Kerala for those who want to test the limits of their skill in competitive formats. The whole course takes around 4 days and includes four open water dives, two pool sessions and three theory sessions.

    Professional Courses

    AIDA Instructor- for those of you in love with freediving and the underwater world and hoping to share this experience with others, its time take your next step and become a professional instructor.  This is an intensive 8-10 day course with at least 40 hours of freediving time logged. To complete the certification a requirement of diving up to 40 meters along with 4 minutes of breath holding should be achieved. For those in love with the activity, this is the perfect opportunity for you to thrive doing what you love.

    AIDA crossover- if you are already a certified freediver by another freediving agency and wish to be AIDA certified, this course is designed to get you up to date on all the specifics and guidelines related to the AIDA certification. Depending on the certification previously acquired the course can take around 3-5 days to complete.

    Speciality courses

    AIDA mouthfill course- equalization of the eustachian tube i.e the air space in the middle ear can be a difficult process for many divers to manage. At deeper depths, optimum control of the equalization process becomes paramount without which damages to the eardrum and canal may occur. This course is built to provide the freediver with advanced skills and techniques to make the process as effortless and efficient as possible. The theory includes several methods of equalization, performing a proper and efficient mouth fill and how to combat the basic problems that most divers face with equalization. A minimum of AIDA 3 star or SSI level 2 certification is prerequisite. The course takes around 1-3 days to complete depending on the skill level of the participant.

    AIDA competition safety freediver- this course is designed to provide the individual with knowledge regarding the safety procedures and rules of AIDA competition formats. You will be provided with all the skill and knowledge to act as safety freediver for any AIDA affiliated competitions a prerequisite to take the course is having an AIDA 2 freediver certification. The course takes around one day to complete.

    AIDA Monofin diver- a monofin is a diving fin that is attached to both legs and is connected to each other. It requires a different technique in order to traverse the waters. This course is to understand the basic mechanics of its usage and how to become proficient at using them. you will be acquainted with the different techniques of using the monofin by the end of the course. A prerequisite of AIDA 2 freediver certification is required and takes around 1-2 days to complete.
