A home away from home...is how I would describe it!
In the midst of natural grandeur, this location has Bhagirathi music running only a few meters away, Lord Shiva's presence is in the air, and the warmth of the hosts' hearth and hearts is beyond description...
A week's stay made me a member of this modest, honest, and loving family.
I highly suggest that anybody who wants to experience the beauty of environment and people stay at Kashi Himalaya Homestay in Uttarkashi!

I spent three wonderful weeks at Kashi Himalaya Homestay. It is such a peaceful place very conducive for meditation, yoga, spiritual practices, relaxation and hiking. It is also an excellent base for exploring the area. It offers gorgeous views of the Ganges and you can listen the mesmerising sound of the water. The whole place feels magical and special. The property is slightly tucked away but amenities are very accessible. The house is very clean and comfortable with European toilet, hot water, filtered water for drinking. The food was excellent, wholesome and healthy. The hosts are extremely caring, helpful, knowledgeable about the area and absolutely wonderful. I will definitely return as often as I can.

This is a fantastic setting for a homestay. Situated on the slope of a hill, with stunning views of the Bhagirathi (Ganga) River below. A magnificent traditional Himalayan residence provides solitude, comfort, and wonderful food; you can also learn to make delectable meals from Sheela Mataji. Highly recommended. Helpful and educated homeowners. Will return frequently.

Since 2017, I've been staying at the Kashi Himalaya Homestay for extended stays. This has become my home away from home. All of the rooms have a distinct and spiritual character, and each has become a favourite. SheelaJi and PanditJi are excellent hosts. They both care for their visitors with parental passion and have extensive knowledge of the area. Beauty and spirituality. This is an excellent place to do yoga, and PanditJI performs daily Pujas in which guests can join if wanted. SheelaJi's Northern Indian family food is consistently tasty and diverse. When Piyush is at home, he is an excellent local guide who appears to know everyone. Trekking on the nearby mountain routes is excellent.
