This motorbike expedition to Ladakh is an unprecedented chance to experience the charm of the region. As the excursion is two-week long, you will have ample time to explore this vast cold desert at a slow and relaxing pace. You will start your experience from Delhi, and those coming from outside the city, are required to reach here 24 hours prior to the departure time. We have an array of fixed departure dates for you to pick as an individual. If you are a group of 8 persons or more, we can arrange for a customized bike expedition package to Leh Ladakh. This itinerary has been well-researched and carefully formulated after looking back at several of our trips in the past.

ITINERARY:
 
Day 1 Flag Off.

1st Night Mandi, HP.
Starting early will get to the hills early, mostly a transit day. We’ll know each other well during the stops and tie our paces to the each others motorcycles and riding styles.
 
2nd Night Jispa, HP, Permit X’ing, Manali.
“We’ll be Back” to rock Manali, but for now we’ll brush past to have formalities done at Rohthang La pass and get to Jispa.
 
3rd Night Leh, J&K
early start, through majestic MORE plans and Tanglang La pass, enter Rumtse – The eastern mountain range blocks the monsoon, thus making it possible for roads to be built at such altitude but it also means that Ladakhi’s have had to be resilient and resourceful in their farming. The
green and yellow patches of land sit in sharp contrast to the innumerable shades of brown and ochre.

Now the “The Great Himalayan Tour” part begins in the ancient town of Leh. At 3500meters our hearts would be eager to ride out but our bodies need a day to acclimatize and get used to the thin air. We will spend our time walking through the charming old town and hopefully manage the climb up to get the panoramic view from Leh Palace.
 
4th Night Leh, J&K, Rest / Short ride to Alchi – Lamayuru
the nearby Hemis Monastery that was completed in 1672. Riding our thumpers is the ultimate way to soak in the sheer raw beauty of the
landscape and experience the ancient culture tucked away in monasteries and palaces (on this tour by the end you would have visited 4 of the National Monuments in Ladakh region). Private Gala Lunch for the Group. Early evening, private Ladakhi dance by traditional outfitted locals, this is very niche not what’s on the streets.
 
5th NightHunder, J&K, Permit
As a ritual we stop by the sand dunes to say hello to the camels and the brave among us go for a ride or sit for a photo-op. Fill in our journals if we are keeping track and then head out on our bikes towards the hot natural springs of Panamik.
 
6th Night Panamik, Sumur
where it all ends and starry nights begin. Lunch will be cooked on the go, by the participants.
 
7th Night PangGong Tso – Merk, J&K, Permit
The ride along the sheyok river will lead us into the pastures where, if we are lucky we will spot the “Kiang” which is the largest of the wild asses that are native to the Tibetan Plateau. The tiny speck of turquoise in the distance will soon turn into the 134km long “Pangong Lake” 60% of which lies in China. This salt lake is like a jewel that will awe you with its innumerable shades of blue. After a ride like todays, our dinner will be followed by retreating into our Swiss tents on the lakeside under the million stars for the much-needed rest.
 
8th Night Karzok, J&K, Tso Moriri. From Merk, - Via Chushul n Via Nyoma
along the Indus River to the remote village Karzok. Permit. Both the day today and tomorrow, will be a bird watchers delight to capture birds in the wild, along with a mammat or a heard of Ibex.
 
9th Night Tso-Kar, J&K
complete back road, scenic like hell and heaven, the stars this evening are going to seem closest to us, we stay at Thukjey. This we ride only 100 kms.
 
10th Night Jispa / Saarchu, HP
220 kms, Saddle Time of 5 to 7 hrs. Loosing altitude, trickle into civilize mountains.
 
11th Night Manali, HP
Gala Dinner. We celebrate – civilization.
 
12th Night Swarghat / Anandpur Sahib / Chandigarh

Our final dinner is usually a happy one as we recap the highlights of our tour and hopefully with an increased appetite for adventure, we hope you will be back to make more memories that will make you smile for the rest of your life!
